"In the day of great slaughter, when the towers fall, streams of water will flow on every high mountain and every lofty hill. 26 The moon will shine like the sun, and the sunlight will be seven times brighter, like the light of seven full days, when the LORD binds up the bruises of his people and heals the wounds he inflicted". (Isaiah 30:25 & 26)
Upon learning the news about the earthquake in Haiti, we at Sacred Farms Ministries (SFM) went into prayer before God for the Country and its people. The Lord immediately put a burden on our heart for the many orphaned children whose number grew considerably as a result of the earthquake.
To meet the outpouring of inquiries and show of support from friends and partners of Sacred Farms Ministries, we decided to match all contributions received after January 11, 2010 in order to make a donation to an orphanage in Port-au-Prince, with which we had prior contact. The name of this orphanage is Wayóm Timoun, which in Creole means, Kingdom of Kids. For this purpose we sent a brief text message asking SFM partners to join us in this effort. With their help, we were able to collect and match a modest donation which was sent to Pastor Rigaud Antoine, the founder and CEO of Wayóm Timoun.
Pastor Rigaud recently informed us that the donation reached the orphanage at a time when their food supply was a single 100 pound bag of rice to feed 40 children who live in the orphanage and over 1,000 new orphans, children and adults from the neighboring area, who have no where else to go for food. We praise our God who is always on time!
Today, Sacred Farms Founder, Romanie Pierre is in Haiti. The Lord allowed for her to go to Jacmel, a town in the Southeast Department of Haiti where we were called to serve long before the recent event, and that has been completely devastated by the earthquake. Romanie and the other missionary who accompanied her, will be working as interpreters at St. Michel Hospital in Jacmel. While translating for the medical staff, they will be advancing the Gospel by talking to the injured, providing comfort and sharing with them the Good News of Jesus Christ.
In Jacmel, the orphaned children are sleeping and living in the streets. We are diligently working to set up a feeding station in the city to start serving them daily breakfast as soon as possible. We have decided to continue supporting and partnering with the ministry of Wayóm Timoun, where not only the children of the orphanage are fed, but also the newly orphaned from the area.
Starting February 2010 Sacred Farms will have its first feeding station in the town of Jacmel. Given the devastation in Jacmel and the current situation in Haiti today, it will cost us US$2 per day to feed ONE child a nutritious breakfast. Our immediate goal is to start feeding at least 50 children a day.
We need your PRAYERS and SUPPORT now! Please pray for wisdom and direction for Sacred Farms as we answer God's call to "Feed them yourselves" (Luke 9:13). Pray for the safety of Romanie Pierre and that of Marly Davis, (The missionary with whom Romanie has traveled).
Please sponsor at least one child and donate whatever amount the Lord has put in your heart, so we can start Feeding His Children!
We thank you in advance for PRAYING and GIVING.
May God bless you!
